Expanding and collapsing mandrels, driven by hydraulic cylinder. This mandrel structure is quite classical for aluminum rewinding machine. The polyamide filler plates used to meet different specification of aluminum coils. Main components includes: outboard support(OBBS),main shaft, segments, wedges, polyamide filler plates, hydraulic cylinder and rotary joint unit.

The outboard support work with special removable support on site, to increase the stability at work, reduce runout of mandrel. The main shaft and wedges used forged 42CrMo4, quenching and tempering treatment. There are bronze sliding plates on working slope and bottom surface of wedges, which can increase the wear resistance of the workpiece, also make mandrels expanding and collapsed more smoothly and flexibly. And bronze sliding plates will reduce wear to main shaft, segments and wedges, it is easily to change sliding plates. The hydraulic cylinder and rotary joint unit will driven pull rod and wedges axial move, segments will have radial movement, this makes mandrel has expanded and collapsed.
